The 2021 Platform Pioneer Summit (the Summit), hosted by Mirakl, was one for the record books. More than 3,100 registrants representing 800 enterprises across 61 countries punched their virtual tickets to hear some of the world’s leading retailers, manufacturers, and distributors discuss their marketplace transformation initiatives.

The theme of this year’s event, Now or Never: the eCommerce Marketplace Imperative, gave a nod to the great eCommerce acceleration and the reality that, as a result, each business is now staring down their own “now or never” moment. The Summit provided attendees with the opportunity to hear from Platform Pioneers about their "now or never" moments and the ways in which the marketplace model is driving growth and transformation of their businesses. Attendees walked away with actionable data, helpful insights, and the best practices to launch and grow an enterprise marketplace.

Those who move now will build an enduring advantage and come out on top. Those who hesitate too long, may lose their opportunity altogether. And while there are still opportunities up for grabs, the pressure is mounting from all directions.

The industry’s first and most advanced enterprise marketplace platform extended its lead 

In addition to featuring top Platform Pioneers, Mirakl unveiled several enhancements to the Mirakl Marketplace Platform; each aimed at further empowering enterprises and accelerating profitable eCommerce growth. Bookended by keynote addresses from Mirakl co-founders and CEOs, Adrien Nussenbaum and Philippe Corrot, Platform Pioneers took to the virtual stage to walk attendees through their marketplace journeys and answer questions regarding what pushed them to - and then beyond - their “now or never” moments.

Whether it was Premier – a leading healthcare improvement company – looking to adapt to changing B2B buying trends; Decathlon searching for the best way to expand their international footprint efficiently while preserving local market strengths; or Super-Pharm’s transition from a pharmacy brand to a well-being brand, each successfully adopted the marketplace model to power their growth and transformation.

At Conrad Electronic, Germany’s preeminent retailer of electronic products, they found the marketplace model as an enabler to become the “one-stop shop” for their buyers, offering them a broad range of products on a site that’s seamless and easy to use.
